About this Event


NEW TURKISH COURSES: REGULAR AND SPEAKING COURSE

We are offering a Regular Turkish Course at the A1 (Beginner) level, as well as Speaking Course at the A2, B1, and B2 levels.

Our A1 Regular course is offered in a hybrid format, allowing participants to join sessions either in person or online. You may also mix and match—attending some classes online and others in person, depending on what works best for you. Our Speaking course, however, is conducted exclusively in person.


COURSE DETAILS AND REGISTRATION


REGULAR COURSE
A1.1 BEGINNER LEVEL – HYBRID
  • Course Schedule: Mondays and Thursdays, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (EST)
  • Course Duration: 4 hours per week, 72 hours in total (18 weeks)
  • Course Dates: July 6, 2026 – November 12, 2026

SPEAKING COURSE
A2–B1–B2 LEVEL SPEAKING COURSE – IN PERSON
  • Course Schedule: Saturdays, 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM (EST)
  • Course Duration: 3 hours per week, 24 hours in total (8 weeks)
  • Course Dates: July 4, 2026 – August 22, 2026
  • Please note that classes will not be held on official public holidays, including: Civic Holiday — August 3, 2026 Labour Day — September 7, 2026 Thanksgiving Day — October 12, 2026


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Regular course will use the Yedi İklim Turkish Set (A1) developed by the Yunus Emre Institute.
  • Speaking course will use specially prepared learning materials based on resources developed by the Yunus Emre Institute.


OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Instructors: Native Turkish-speaking teachers experienced in teaching Turkish as a foreign language
  • Age Requirement: Participants must be of high school age or older.

COURSE FEES
  • Regular Courses: CA$108 + Eventbrite processing fee
  • Speaking Courses: CA$40 + Eventbrite processing fee



REGISTRATION

Registration must be completed through Eventbrite. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited capacity. Early registration is strongly recommended.


Withdrawal and Refund Policy
  • Participants may withdraw before the course begins; however, Eventbrite processing fees may not be refundable.
  • If a participant withdraws within the first week of the course, Eventbrite fees and an additional 20% administrative fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
  • No refunds will be issued after the first week of the course.
  • All refunds will be processed to the participant’s bank account.

Registration Documents

Once the courses begin, the Toronto Yunus Emre Institute may request additional registration forms and supporting documents. All information and documentation will be handled confidentially in accordance with provincial and federal regulations.


Course Cancellation

Courses may be cancelled if the minimum enrollment requirement is not met.

Yedi İklim Türkçe Set

Yedi İklim Türkçe Set, prepared by the Turkish Education Directorate, consists of course books, workbooks, teacher's books, listening booklets and audio CD's. These sets are developed taking into consideration the levels and basic living areas given in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The book sets comprises the A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 levels and are used at the Cultural Centers, departments of Turkish studies that collaborate with the Institute, and the Turkish Teaching Centers in Turkey.
