Here’s a really fun way to lose some of those post-Thanksgiving pounds: Come to Footmad’s Turkey Trot at the YWCA on Saturday, November 29, and dance to the music of the Red Mountain Yellowhammers and caller Jef Hodge. It’ll be such fun with none of the stress that comes with watching the other big event of the night that shall go unnamed here. Bring your friends and anyone who’s in town visiting you. And if you happen to have any left-over desserts that you want to get out of the house, bring them. We start at 7 p.m. with quick and easy instructions for newcomers and proceed directly into dancing with the friendliest people imaginable. The YWCA is at the corner of 3rd Avenue North and 23rd Street North. Use the 23rd Street entrance. Ring the doorbell and tell the folks at the front desk that you are coming to dance and you’ll be buzzed in (kinda like a speak-easy), then head up to the gym on second floor.
Don’t forget to bring your water bottle and comfy shoes! It’s a good time for all!
