Turkey Tail Hand Broom with Tia Tumminello of Husk Brooms

2-Hour Workshop

Time: 6pm-8pm

Description: Learn how to make a traditional turkey tail hand broom in this 2hr workshop hosted by Husk Brooms. These hand brooms are great for cleaning common areas: kitchen counter, desk top, plant or pet care areas. These brushes are made with broom corn and have curly wispy ends great for collecting hair and smaller debris. These have a straight cut end that sweeps easily into a dustpan.

This workshop is beginner friendly. Please keep in mind broom making requires manual dexterity in both hands and feet (toes especially!) Participants should feel comfortable using a blunt knife and lighter. Participants will be encouraged to work barefoot or wear thin socks as this helps control the foot bobbin.

Tuition: $45 + $20 materials fee

Materials: All materials will be provided.

Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded by check, to your credit card, or Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.

Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.
