Turf, TDs and Twitter tantrums -media messaging in a Green Party government

Talk by former Green Party spokesman and government press secretary, Aiden Corkery, followed by Q&A moderated by Young Greens auditor, Manus Mac Gearailt.

Aiden Corkery was head of news at the Irish Daily Mail and political correspondent for the Sunday Business Post before becoming deputy government press secretary in May 2021. For over three years until January 2025 he was spokesperson for the Green Party in government, with responsibility for implementing the party's communications strategy and ensuring it enabled the party to achieve its policy objectives. Duties included media relations, media messaging, debate and interview preparation, political analysis, crisis management, speechwriting and leading on internal and external communications with key stakeholders such as Green Party TDs and Senators, councillors, party officials, party members, senior civil servants, NGOs and opinion formers.
