Full Updated Agenda for Bald Butte Lookout Trip
Motorcycle Adventure: Tumalo to Bald Butte Lookout
June 19–21, 2026
Go Light, Go Far – Self-Led Adventure
Trip Overview
This is a self-led adventure from Tumalo to the historic Bald Butte Lookout (Fremont-Winema National Forest) and back. GPS tracks will be provided in advance. Experienced riders familiar with the route will also be participating, providing extra comfort that no one will get lost. A participant with medical experience will be on the trip as well.
Riders will be paired up for optimal safety during the ride.
Participants ride at their own pace.
Day 1 riding: 6–9 hours, approximately 60–70% off-road (realistic dirt/gravel miles from the Bend/Tumalo area — significantly shorter and more manageable than the Pickett Butte trip).
This is not a commercial event. Bike rentals and insurance are handled directly between you and RiderShare. Everything else is pre-purchased for your convenience. You are welcome to tag along if you just want to join the group. Ground camping is available. This trip requires a minimum of 6 paid riders to proceed.
The $250 is a suggested donation amount to help cover hard costs and so we can be generous to those donating their time to make this event a success.
