Tulsa Community Drumming
Mondays | 7:00–8:30 PM
Experience the joy, connection, and energy of community drumming! Whether you're picking up a drum for the first time or looking to expand your skills, these fun and welcoming beginning-to-intermediate classes offer an opportunity to learn, play, and grow alongside others.
Each session is led by one of five experienced instructors, each bringing their own unique style and passion while teaching rhythms from traditions around the world. Explore a variety of instruments including Djembe, Conga, Ashiko, Djun Djun, Frame Drum, Slaptop Cajón, percussion, and more. Every class offers a fresh experience with new rhythms to enjoy and practice together.
All instructors have performed or taught professionally, maintain dedicated personal practices, and have studied with Grammy Award-winning musician Gordy Ryan, who toured and performed with Babatunde Olatunji for more than 20 years.
Please bring your own drum if you have one. A limited number of drums will be available for those who need to borrow one.
Join us every Monday and every other Friday evenings from 7:00–8:30 PM at The Center of Light for an uplifting evening of rhythm, learning, and community. We also invite you to connect with fellow drummers through the Tulsa Community Drumming Facebook group for class updates and announcements.
