Tulpa are an indie rock band from Leeds. Their sound contrasts detuned and lo-fi guitar textures with hyper-melodic vocals, creating songs with emotional warmth and sonic intrigue. The group consists of Josie Kirk, Daniel Hyndman, Myles Kirks and Mike Ainsley. The band have recently supported Throwing Muses, Pale Blue Eyes and Bug Club as well as performing a live session for Marc Riley and Gideon Coe on BBC6 Music.
Live, the songs lean into texture, tone and repetition. There is ample riffage and guitar-geekery to satiate your average Pavement fan, while the songs stay emotionally grounded and (reasonably) accessible.
Not much is known about Tulpa, they don’t have any songs online yet except a live session on YouTube, but in the quieter corners of the UK’s DIY festivals and indie venues they amass a following of lovers of noise, melody and rock and roll.

Experimental art punk project taking inspiration from 1970s no wave. Established in 2022, the rising Bristol-based five-piece have captured the hearts and minds of the Bristol underground scene with their enigmatic blend of woozy slowcore, abrasive post-punk and otherworldly dream pop.
After a slew of support slots spanning the likes of high profile DIY acts such as Nervus, The Deadnotes and BLED (fka DRAG), the band recently joined forces with friend and producer George Turner (Sun Spot, Adoring) to record their debut EP; Laikas Window, released in August 2023.
