Tufting Workshop with Alena Ruth Donely

Using six colours, the design can be anything you wish; a landscape, a flag, a character or an abstract. All materials to complete your 30x30cm masterpiece will be provided, and you will complete it during the workshop.

Using an electric tufting gun and with the support and guidance of tufting artist Alena you will be able to create a unique piece of artwork for your home.

You will be contacted prior to the event to submit your design so that Alena can prepare your frame in advance, ready for the workshop.

The workshop will be led by local tufting legend Alena Ruth Donely of Manchester Tufting Workshops. MTW was established in 2020 with the drive to make the art of tufting more accessible to the general public. Originally from Blackpool, Alena’s studio is based at Islington Mill in Salford where she regularly delivers workshops.

Important info: Please note that this session is upstairs. Aunty Social in the process of installing a lift, which should be ready by Summer 2024. The event space is up a single flight of 14 steps then you go around the corner and there are two small steps. Once you’re upstairs there’s a loo. You shouldn’t need to come downstairs for anything until the end of the activity.

Photographs will be taken during the workshop and may be shared online, in print material and to promote Aunty Social in the future. Please let us know before or during the session if you would not like to be included in any photography.

If you’ve purchased a ticket but find yourself unable to attend the workshop, please ensure that you submit a refund request through Eventbrite at least 72 hours before the event. Failure to request a refund before the 72-hour deadline will result in the inability to receive any reimbursement.

• Driving: The closest pay and display car parks are on East Topping St and Talbot Road multi storey. There is also parking at the nearby Sainsbury’s supermarket, please make sure that you check the terms before you use the car park. Free parking is available on most streets around the venue from 6pm, please make sure to check signage before leaving your car.

As this is a workshop with limited places and specialised equipment/materials, we can only offer refunds if your order is cancellend 7 days before the activity is due to take place.
