Tufting Coasters Workshop - Manchester

Looking for a fun family activity,

a crafty date idea or just wanting to get creative with your friends?

Come and learn the art of tufting.

The workshop will take place in T&T Craft Studio at M One Studio on 8 Lower Ormond Street in Manchester.

Two participants will work together on the same board to complete the tufting, and each participant can design and complete their own tufting coaster. Each person can choose to make one placemat of approximately 15*18cm or two coasters of 10*10cm.

Just let us know what image you want to tuft and send it to us in advance, we will prepare everything for you.

Due to the size of the tufting for this experience, we recommend choosing a picture with simple lines. If you find that you like tufting and would like to make something more sophisticated, please feel free to contact us to book a larger size.

What is tufting?

Tufting is a way of rug making, it’s easy and fun to do! You don’t need to worry about anything, we will provide you with all the materials you need and walk you through the basics of tufting in our workshop.

Your design will be drawn on the fabric canvas and ready at your workspace for the beginning of the workshop. Our workshop will start by learning how to operate the tufting gun. Using the tufting gun, you will shoot out colourful yarn threads into the primary fabric canvas. You will have some time to practice before you start tufting your fluffy art piece. You will learn the technique to tuft and start tufting from bottom to top, this will also help you see the direction you are tufting towards. Once you feel ready to start tufting the main rug, you will see how easy it is and hopefully this will be a perfect opportunity to relax and create something beautiful and meaningful.

Our tutors will be there to guide you throughout the process, and make sure you are able to finish on time.

To ensure the quality of your personal experience, group size will be limited to 4.

a minimum number of 2 bookings is required in order for the session to go ahead.
