It has been 90 weeks since Tuesday Night Blues has happened at the Mercury Cafe, and it’s about time to break that streak! While the Merc has not re-opened on Tuesdays yet, the schedule has opened up and given us the opportunity to Blues dance this Saturday, the first time in a very long time. (628 days, but who’s counting?)Come join us and shake the dust off your Blues groove! The night is kicking off at 7:30 with an hour-long fundamentals lesson, perfect for both those looking to learn a new dance as well as seasoned dancers looking to get the rust off their gears. Taught by the one and only Kara Fabina, the lesson is $7 by itself or $15 for the lesson and the dance.
The dance is $10 and starts at 8:30 immediately following the lesson. The DJ’d music will be spun by none other than Kara Fabina and Vartan Khachaturov. What a great duo to get us back to dancing Blues! (And maybe a little fusion later in the night....) Come dance with us and check out Denver’s best hidden gem!
Want to make a night of it? Don’t forget there’s a full bar and restaurant downstairs! The kitchen only serves fresh, local, organic food with many vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. The full kitchen closes at 10, but soups, sandwiches, and desserts are available late. Come out and support local businesses!
****COVID MANDATE REQUIREMENTS****
The City and County of Denver has just reinstated their mask mandate, meaning masks are required in all public indoor spaces for everyone age 2 and up regardless of vaccination status.
At this dance, vaccines and masks are required, cards will be checked at the door, and hand sanitizer is always available.
Expect to fill out your contact information at the door in the event COVID contact tracing needs to occur. If you do test positive for COVID after attending this dance, please contact Colorado Blues Dance ([email protected] / (720) 316-6129) or the Mercury Cafe immediately so we can take the necessary steps.
