Tuesday at 12 Student Edition: Joaquin Socolofsky and Lemon Vice

Joaquin Socolofsky presents a flute recital that weaves together traditional folk music and contemporary works to evoke the concept of "the homeland." This thought-provoking performance offers a glimpse into society as it grapples with both progress and turmoil. An up-and-coming classical flutist and Oregon native, Joaquin has performed with esteemed ensembles, including the Oregon Mahler Festival and Clackamas Repertory Theater. A passionate advocate for the natural world, Joaquin’s artistry reflects the intricate relationships between nature and modern civilization, making his recital an inspiring and reflective experience.

Jason Yelton's Lemon Vice presents a unique performance blending indie and folk elements with his digital and hip-hop roots. Accompanied by special guests Micah Scothorn, Evan Morris, Dario Dodge, and Sebas, this set showcases his evolution from a Portland hip-hop artist to a more melodic and alternative musician. A local live sound engineer, musician, and student, Lemon Vice released his debut album in 2023, featuring tracks like "On My Own" and "Lemonade Powder." His diverse experience includes producing with MoodieHoodie, playing bass with The Whether or Not, and rapping with the hip-hop collective JINN, reflecting his versatility and commitment to exploring new musical landscapes.
