TUC Cancer in the Workplace Course_England (classroom)

Cancer and the Workplace course which helps reps explore issues to be faced if a union member is diagnosed with cancer, including their rights to time-off, and find out more about cancer and the workplace, its causes and effects.

How long is the course?

This course will be delivered over 1 Friday in a classroom.

What will the course help me to do?

This course is designed to address some of the issues concerned when dealing with members who are diagnosed or working with cancer whilst in the workplace. Topics covered are:

• Barriers to overcome
• Workplace and external Support
• Union support Communicating with members
• Case studies
• Discussing cancer with management
• Managing your own wellbeing
• Legislation
• Raising awareness action planning

How much is the course?

There are no course fees for union reps from TUC affiliated unions.

PLEASE NOTE: This course is for residents of England only. This course will be delivered by Wirral Met. Please be aware that funding restrictions in some areas may mean that a college cannot accept your application: if this is the case you will be notified which college to reapply to.
