It is registration time - think about joining the TTU Balkan Ensemble! ?❤.
Open to all players of strings, winds, reeds, brass, keyboard, percussion, fretted instruments (guitar, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki, etc.), accordion, and hammer dulcimer. Singing and dancing are integral parts of ensemble performances, so singers and dancers are most welcome, too!

Rehearsals - Mondays, 7:30-9:30pm, face-to-face with social distancing. This ensemble satisfies one (1) hour of credit.

TTU Balkan Ensemble explores the traditional musics of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Macedonia, as well as Turkey and other regions nearby.
.
Balkan Ensemble presents a unique opportunity for students (and community guest players) to explore the complex and challenging rhythms and characteristic modes that developed via the meeting of east and west in the cultural crossroads of the Balkans.
.
Improvisation is also an exciting and important component of Balkan music. Traditional tunes are presented along with recently composed works.
