'Tis the season for the Ohio Mountain Bike League to kick off! This practice is designed to welcome NEW and PREVIOUS riders and coaches to get back on the bikes and see what the Greater Columbus Mountain Bike Team is all about! We are welcoming any student that is going into 6th-12th grade for the 2023/24 school year. This team is not limited to any school district. We have kids from Dublin, Hilliard, Clintonville, Grove City, Gahanna, Lancaster, and Home School!
If you are interested in coaching, this is for you too!
This will be held at Lou Berliner Sports Park in the Mountain Bike Area. This is toward the back of the park, just follow signs that say "Single Track"
What to expect from this:
✨ There will be a quick bike check to make sure that bikes are safe to ride. We highly recommend that you bring it into a shop to have them check it out prior to this to catch any major issues.
✨ We will stretch and introduce ourselves (don't worry, there will not be a quiz ?)
✨ There will be a game or 2 to assess the ability of each rider. And, games are just plain fun!
✨ TRAIL RIDE! Berliner's mountain bike trails are perfect for beginners and a great place for experienced riders to warm up their legs again. If you have not ever ridden before - trust me, you can do this! There are 2 different trails and a skills course in the middle. Each trail is around 1mile.
✨ There will also be a parent meeting to make sure that parents are totally aware of what to expect from the season and the league. ALL PARENTS should attend this meeting, whether you are new or were a part of the team last year.
