Curious about dragon boating? Come and give it a go – for FREE (with ticket)!
We’re running two open sessions this September at Z Pier, Westhaven Marina – and you're invited to jump in, meet some legends, and see what all the splash is about.
No experience? No worries. We’ll guide you from the dock to the water with everything you need – gear, lifejackets, good vibes, and a welcoming crew.
Whether you’re keen to get fit, make new mates, or just want to try something different, this is a great way to dip your paddle in and see what dragon boating is all about.

🕘 Timing:
Arrive at Z Pier toilets by 9.45am
We’ll finish around 12pm
📍 Location:
Z Pier, Westhaven Marina, Auckland

🅿️ Parking:
Free parking near the Drowning Prevention Office (5 min walk), or paid parking right at Z Pier
🧢 What to bring:
Gym clothes that can get wet (nothing too baggy)
Jandals/water shoes or bare feet
A drink bottle
Sunscreen and a hat
We’ll provide the rest!
🛶 Open to ages 12 and up – all paddlers must be able to swim 50m unassisted.
It’s fun, it’s free, and it’s a great way to be part of a growing community sport with options for social or competitive paddling.
