Queen Street Mill are thrilled announce our talented museum assistant and small textile business owner, Janet, will be delivering a complete 5-day weaving course in October 2024.Never tried weaving before? Don't know where to start but are interested in learning a new skill?
Before you commit to the full course, pop into Queen Street Mill to try your hand at lots of different hand weaving techniques. In the drop-in, you can have a go at creating stripes, checks or a mini landscape. You'll be able to try out a rigid heddle handloom, and you can explore how to weave on various types of yarn. These drop in sessions are ideal for complete beginners and those who want to give weaving a go, and you can decide if you want to explore further and develop your skills in the weaving course in October. All materials are provided, and staff will be on hand to demonstrate and guide you.
