About this Event

We will be meeting on Saturday, August 22 & 29, 10AM to 2PM

In this two-part series you will learn the three main TBRI® principles, the corresponding strategies and practical tools to implement them. TBRI® is a holistic, attachment-based, evidence-based, and trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the needs of vulnerable children. Because trauma impacts all aspects of a child's life oftentimes traditional parenting methods don't work. This series will equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to help the child in your care get back on their appropirate developmental trajectory and strategies for handling challenging behaviors.

August 22 Introduction and Overview & Connecting Principles Learn what happens when attachment is disrupted, how to communicate in a way that establishes felt safety for your child and how your own adult attachment impacts your parenting.

August 29 Empowering & Correcting Principles Learn how trauma impacts the child's physiological and enviromental needs. Gain insight and tools to meet their unique sensory related needs and help develop self-regulation skills. Learn how to disarm challenging fear based behaviors, replace them with appropriate ones, balance structure and nurture and set appropirate expectations. Click here to RSVP for Part 2.

This group will meet twice in August from 10am-12pm for two training classes. Although it's best to attend both trainings in sequential order, you may join as many as your schedule allows. Participation certificates will be issued for each training attended.

Presenter Info: The class is taught by Tristen McGhee, RDN, MEd in Neuroscience & Trauma, Adoptive Mom & Certified Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) Practitioner.

This class is a part of our Foster & Kinship Care Education Series (FKCE) to help you stay current with best practices in parenting. Thank you for all you do to help children thrive! Click here to register for future classes.
