About this Event
What is True Nature?
True Nature is all around us. The natural world is always speaking to us, inviting us to come home—to this moment; to ourselves; to our connection with other living beings.
True Nature is within us. It’s connection, compassion, and creativity. It’s who we are when we come into the world—who we are beneath our learned habits and patterns and fears—and it’s always waiting for us to feel it, follow it, express it.
True Nature is in the people beside us. Sometimes we hold the key to unlocking these gifts in others. Other times their true nature frees our own.
What is this walk? This is a way to connect with true nature within and around us. To rest, relax, and replenish. To discover nature’s gifts as well as our own.
We’ll walk 1-2 miles along the bank of the beautiful Chattahoochee River, enjoying expansive views, rare wildflowers, and abundant wildlife.
On the walk, you’ll:
- Tune into your senses in a moving meditation
- Connect with others through guided one-on-one conversations
- Play fun games and other activities
All activities are designed to help you slow down, relax, and connect more deeply with nature and your own inner truth.
What will I get out of it?Honestly, I can’t say, because it depends on the questions and needs you bring to it. When I go on these walks, I often find:
- Joy and equanimity
- Deep, nourishing replenishment
- Increased connection to the plants, animals, and other beings around me
- Energy and creative inspiration
- A strong sense of belonging
- Easier access to intuition and inner wisdom
- Clues, greater clarity, or answers to my current questions
- Grounded guidance around decisions and/or my path in general
- Meaningful connection to other people
- A felt sense that I’m not the only one and I don’t have to do it all alone
I’m offering this to anyone who wants to connect more deeply with themselves, other people, and the wider living (natural) world.
Nature is all-inclusive and creates a space where everyone is welcome for who they are; where our unique roles and gifts are encouraged and valued; and where it’s safe to express our full and messy selves. I aim to do the same, to the best of my limited human capabilities.
How much does it cost?Because I want this to be accessible to anyone who wants to join, for now I'm offering it at a pay-what-you-can rate. Please choose an amount that feels right to you between $1 and $30.
Why this? Why now? It’s been a hard time for all of us. Most of us are pretty bumped, battered, and bruised by the last couple of years, if not the last couple of decades.
I believe that connection—to self, other people, and nature—is key to our own personal healing as well as the healing of our world. I’m offering here what’s been instrumental in helping me to heal.

What if I'm interested but can't make it?I'm offering this walk at a few other days, times, and locations. Click here to see a list. If none of these work for you, send me a note at [email protected] and let me know when and where would work better for you.
“Dear Mother Earth… Every time I place my feet on the Earth I have a chance to be in touch with you and with all your wonders. With every step I can touch the fact that you aren’t just beneath me, dear Mother, but you are also within me. Each mindful and gentle step can nourish me, heal me, and bring me into contact with myself and with you in the present moment.”
