In this workshop, Sley House Editor-in-Chief Jeremy Billingsley discusses the current state of publishing and shows writers how to get their work in front of publishers, agents, and editors. We'll talk about the importance of marketing by authors, writing query letters, and working with editors, beta readers, and reviewers. We'll also talk about red flags to look out for during the process, vanity presses and other pitfalls. Editor-in-Chief Jeremy Billingsley is the owner of Sley House Publishing and a published author. With an MFA in creative writing, Jeremy has also taught creative writing at the graduate and undergraduate level. His publishing house has published five short story anthologies, three collections of stories from individual authors, and several novels by different authors. He's worked with his podcast cohost to produce a highly regarded podcast in literature which includes author interviews, radio dramas, and dramatic readings. He's held numerous readings and has interviewed at both the local, state, and national level across numerous platforms.
