Trowbridge Stanza - Poetry Feedback Workshop

The Trowbridge Stanza event on Saturday 1 November will be a feedback workshop, allowing members to bring poems they are working on for feedback from others.

To allow enough time for every participant to have their poem discussed, this workshop unfortunately has to be limited to 12 people.

To take part, please book your place, and then (and ONLY then!) email ONE work-in-progress poem to Nina Parmenter at [email protected].

Poems must be no more than 30 lines, and should be emailed to Nina by Friday 24 October. Nina will then circulate the poems to all participants to give everyone a chance to ponder the poems before the session.If you sign up for this session, you must be prepared to:

• Read the poems in advance of the workshop and jot down your thoughts.
• Contribute to the session with feedback on some of the poems.

• Give, and receive, feedback on what you enjoy about the poems, and constructive suggestions for improvement!

The session should be a creative exchange of ideas, so it's probably a good idea to send in a poem which you feel could do with a good shake-up (but you're not quite sure how!). For this type of session in particular, we ask that all attendees have read the Poetry Society code of conduct for stanzas. We look forward to reading your work!

The Trowbridge Stanza was established in 2016, and is a Poetry Society Stanza that meets every first Saturday at Drawing Projects UK in Trowbridge. Poetry Society Stanzas are poetry groups run voluntarily by members of the Poetry Society. Although several of the group belong to the Poetry Society, there is no obligation for anyone to join. Everyone is welcome to this friendly and inclusive group, a mixture of published and unpublished poets, with an age range of 16+ to 80+, who travel to Drawing Projects UK (next to Trowbridge train station) from all over the south west region. The session starts at 2pm and runs from 2pm to 4pm, so please arrive promptly. Arthaus Coffee will be open until 3pm.
