The bands:
Hailing from the mountainous town of Nelson, British Columbia, The Valhalla Playboys are the unrivaled masters of Inland Western Psychedelic Surf Music — the exact sound you’ve been craving without knowing it existed. As original songwriters, they forge reverb-drenched guitars, cromulent divergences, mind-bending psychedelic flourishes, and unstoppable surf energy into waves that crash far from any ocean. Surf’s up — The Valhalla Playboys are in the splash zone.
Midnight Boogaloo is a Vancouver-based Latin fusion collective led by Colombian guitarist Alan Ruiz, blending cumbia, salsa, and boogaloo with a ’70s New York edge delivering high-energy performances that move both body and soul.
Robin Layne & the Rhythm Makers are creating a sound that bridges worlds and uplifts listeners with tropical grooves rooted in tradition. Led by JUNO-nominated percussionist Robin, they have been bringing their infectious grooves to stages across the Pacific Northwest.
