We are bringing you an international star , Miguel Monteiro
At 15:15 a tantalizing Kizomba lesson followed by a DJ session playing Kizomba, Bachata and Salsa.
With a wealth of experience teaching and DJing at renowned events like Testa com, Motion City,Sabura Festival, Sabor Latino, Senegal SBK, Mambo City, Son Latino Events, Winter Afro Latin Festival , Walt Latin Festival and many more.
Our international star is sure to deliver an unforgettable experience .
Miguel Monteiro:
Originally from guinea- Bissau west Africa,, Miguel grew up in Lisbon ,Portugal, where he started to develop an interest for Afro Cuban style dance. At the age of 13 he found his talent and started taking his hobby more seriously. He started by learning contemporary jazz, Latin rhythm and Salsa and later moved onto more sensual styles such as Kizomba. Alongside Iris de Brito, Miguel was leading figure and the way forward in the UK with his interpretation of Kizomba – a fusion of Argentinean Tango and Zouk (French Caribbean). Miguel’s passion for dance and love of Latin rhythm has enabled him to develop his own unique and enchanting style. The kizomba fusion(base on musicality ,choreograph steps/figures, feeling and lead /connection
Performer:
Miguel currently performs salsa with A Yemaya – Frank Santos’ breathtaking new dance group which has taken the UK by storm. As a group A Yemaya won ‘Best UK Performance 2008’ from Salsa Central and is performing at numerous venues and congresses over the world
Miguel also performs his amazing Kizomba choreography with his dance partner Iris de Brito who is one of the biggest talents on the UK salsa scene – twice UK salsa champion.
Since 2009 he has partner up Marlene Almeida from Portugal for last 7years the have been one best kizomba teacher around Europe and beyond.
Since 2013 Miguel has move to Germany seeking a new project and possibility to share his knowledge and passion for kizomba in Germany, and beyond
After moving to Germany and establish him self has main kizomba techer in and around Germany, he also a co organizer of Sabura kizomba festival.
Teacher:
Miguel teaches various styles over the world including LA Cross Body on 1, New York Mambo on 2, Puerto Rican style, Cuban style, Cha cha cha, Bachata and Kizomba, samba, funana and some of the African rhytms
Languages spoken: English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French.
