Troostwood Pocket Park Weeding in Partnership with Master Gardeners of Greater Kansas City

Meet at the Troostwood Pocket Park, at 49th Street and Troost, and help with weeding native gardens, labeling plants, and installing mulch. We'll have extra support and advice from Master Gardeners of Greater Kansas City.
We'll also be spending some time learning about Hügelkultur, "the practice of turning woody materials and soil into a permaculture-approved raised bed," as we prep raised beds at the park for planting fruit bushes in fall 2026.
Trash pickup on-site - and at the bus stop - is always an option.
Free coffee station and treats!
Please bring a water bottle. We will provide gloves, tools, and trash bags for litter.
