The Triple Deuce Hero WOD is a tribute dedicated to three members of the 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) who were killed in action on September 29, 2008:
Capt. Richard G. Cliff, Jr., age 29.
Sgt. 1st Class Jamie S. Nicholas, age 32.
Sgt. 1st Class Gary J. Vasquez, age 33.
The three soldiers were conducting a combat reconnaissance patrol in the Yakhchal vicinity of Helmand Province, Afghanistan, when their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED).
The movements—burpees, squats, push-ups, and sandbag work—were specifically chosen because they represent the types of exercises the team could perform in remote, austere environments using only the gear they had available.
AMRAP22 lined up on one goal line
- 22 Burpees
- 22 SB Squats
- 22 SB Push-Ups
- 22 SB Over-the-Shoulder Throws
- 222m Sprint (goal line to the back of the far end zone and back)
