Jake Hills, born in Gippsland, Australia, grew up drawn to Melbourne’s vibrant music scene. From the mid-90s St Kilda to the 2010s Brunswick, Jake found inspiration in the city’s eclectic mix of genres and creative communities. These influences shaped his musical journey and led him to form Fuck The Fitzroy Doom Scene, a band known for its raw, high-energy blend of doom, punk, and heavy rock. The band’s aggressive sound captured the rebellious spirit of Melbourne’s underground music culture.
Despite the success of Fuck The Fitzroy Doom Scene, Jake sought a more personal creative outlet. This led to the formation of The Jake Hills Band, a project that allowed him to explore a softer, more introspective side of his musical identity with a 70s vibe .
With this band, Jake delves into mellow, melodic sounds while expressing his life journey through his lyrics and guitar work.
Jake Hills remains a distinctive voice in Melbourne’s music scene, continuing to evolve and tell his story through music
