Good books can start great conversations.
Our TRiO SSS Book Club gives students the opportunity to explore different books and connect their themes to their own experiences, goals, education, and personal growth.
This semester, we’ll explore Michelle Obama’s Becoming across three conversations. Each session will focus on a different part of the journey:
Part 1: Where We Start on Sept 28
Childhood, early experiences, and self-doubt
Part 2: Who We Grow With on Oct 27
Relationships, responsibilities, and finding balance
Part 3: Who We Are Becoming on Dec 2
Bringing our experiences together to understand identity, growth, and what comes next
You do not need to have everything figured out before joining the conversation. Come ready to listen, reflect, and connect the reading to your own experiences.

Physical copies of Becoming will be available soon in the Office; please stop by this week or next during their ASP meetings to pick one up. You can also watch Becoming on Netflix with closed captions and subtitles.
