Patrick Topping returns to the North East for a one-off extended 7 hour set for an outdoor headline day party for one hell of a homecoming shindig!
Patrick will take over Times Square for a rare seven-hour All-Day-Long set, marking a major headline moment in his career to date. The show represents a full circle moment. An extended performance that reflects both the scale of his global success and the deep connection that continues to tie one of electronic music’s most influential artists to the city where his story began.
Over the past decade Patrick Topping has become one of the defining figures in modern house music. A producer, DJ and label founder whose influence stretches across the world’s most respected clubs and festivals, yet Newcastle has remained a constant presence throughout that rise. Along the way he has steadily ticked off some of the North East’s most recognisable large-scale venues and locations, including Gateshead Stadium (2019), Gosforth Park Racecourse (2020), Utilita Arena (2021) andthe debut TRICK Fest on the Town Moor (2024). Each event growing in scale and ambition. Now Times Square joins that list.
Following a run of sold out Open-to-Close shows across the UK, Topping now brings the format to his home city for its biggest edition so far. A full day and evening of music between 16:00 and 23:00 in the centre of Newcastle, placing one of the city’s defining artists centre stage for a marathon set.
The event is promoted and produced by long standing Newcastle promoters EVNT Live and Shindig Events, who return to Times Square having last presented Carl Cox Live at Times Square in 2021, broadcast live on BBC Radio 1
"Our last Trick event in Newcastle was on the Town Moor in 2024 and it was massive, we had around 11,000 people there. Since then we’ve been planning what to do next, and Times Square feels like the perfect venue to tick off next. Over the years I’ve played all over Newcastle and loads of the clubs, ever since I started playing around town in back in 2009. But I’ve never done Times Square before, so I’m really excited to finally play this iconic spot!” Patrick Topping
“Playing extended sets from open to close is my favourite way to perform, and I’ve actually never done an all-day-long set in Newcastle before. We were originally planning to book a full lineup for this one, but then we thought, why not just do it all myself? So it’s going to be a really special occasion, playing 7 hours!” Patrick Topping
