Join us for a free clinic on Saturday 9/27 hosted by LA Tri and Featuring Sports Basement's own Yuta Sano!

Yuta is a Sports Basement Legacy! Starting his journey as a collegiate swimmer at UC Santa Cruz, he got involved in open water races, then multi sport events, and then on to his final and lasting passion: triathlons. He is currently a part of a Team USA Age Group Team. He's raced in world championship events in Mexico, Australia, and Abu Dhabi. He is currently training for the 2025 ITU World Championships in Australia this October.

Our Triathlon 101 Clinic is a perfect intro to the sport, ESPECIALLY if the Iron Bruin Collegiate is lined up to be your first event. We'll cover topics like:

• Sprint Distance vs. Olympic Distance
• What equipment do you need for a triathlon?
• What is a transition area? What is Swim In/Bike Out/Bike In/Run Out. How to orient yourself in transition.
• How is the triathlon timed? What are T1 and T2?
• Why do triathletes wear wetsuits? Tips on putting on/taking off a wetsuit and the joys of anti chafing products
• Basics of nutrition and the importance of eating/hydrating on the bike
• Safety tips

We'll wrap the talk with a Q&A so come with your questions!
