Join us for an “article club” event to discuss grade inflation in higher education.
About this Event

The median college GPA has been rising at many schools across the state. Critics say it’s evidence of declining academic standards, and they want to see change at higher ed institutions. But it’s not clear why it’s happening—or if it matters.

The Assembly and Flyleaf Books are hosting this event to discuss the digital magazine’s reporting on this issue in higher education in our state.

Join The Assembly’s higher education reporters and our Triangle team for a casual conversation about changes in the classroom, what experts think students should learn in college, and the future of higher education in our state. Read the story we plan to discuss here.

This will be a group discussion similar to a book club—but with a much shorter reading assignment! We held our first Article Club gathering in Greensboro this summer, and you can read more about the format here.

The first event was a success because participants came ready to discuss and debate. So please bring your questions and ideas about the state of higher education in North Carolina.
