A lot of folks are going to hear Trevor’s AM radio gold, sunshine-y Californiana record I Like It Here, and draw some immediate parallels to Laurel Canyon folk singers and songwriters like Jackson Browne, The Eagles, Joni Mitchell, and more, due to his sun-drenched vocals and his lyrical references. But to lean to heavily on that would mean missing out on focusing Trevor’s empathetic, brilliant songwriting, the thoughtful, dedicated instrumentation, and the heart of Trevor’s songs that shines throughout. Although his lyrics are compassionate and sensitive, there’s no doubt about it that Trevor can rock.
