Born in Amarillo and raised on a ranch in west Texas, Trent later moved to Nashville, TN and signed with Sony Records, having hits such as “Beer Man” and “On Again Tonight”, as well as writing songs for other artists like Brad Paisley and Montgomery Gentry. He also produces many artists including Cody Johnson and Kevin Fowler.
