About this Event
Something a little bit different for this month's walk! The "Trena Cox:Reflections 100" exhibition is running at the Cathedral from 7th October to 8th November exploring the work of Trena Cox, Chester's renowned 20th century stained glass artist.
This walk will be a chance to get out onto the streets of the city where Trena lived and worked from 1924 until her death in 1980. We'll take a look at some of the buildings where her distinctive work can be seen today and learn more of their history.
Trena was a passionate advocate for the preservation of her adopted home's history and heritage. Along the walk, we'll consider several of the streetscapes that changed quite dramatically during Trena's time in Chester.
There'll also be plenty of chance to chat with fellow walkers along the way and share your thoughts on Trena's art and legacy.
The walk will begin at the Storyhouse as usual and will end at Chester Cathedral, giving you an opportunity to visit the exhibition, if you wish, and to see more of Trena's work in situ. No booking required.
For further information about the exhibition and associated events and activities, please see the Chester Cathedral website.

This is one of a series of regular monthly netwalks in and around Chester city centre held on the third Wednesday of every month. There will also be a longer, extended version of this walk running on Sunday 3rd November. Please follow me for more details of future events.
Who are these netwalks for?
Literally everyone and anyone! A lunchtime walk is a great way to escape your desk and recharge the batteries whilst getting a little fresh air and exercise, so they are ideal for anyone working in and around central Chester in an office or shared space. Some of the best connections can be made whilst just walking and chatting. For those working from home, it could be a chance to meet some like-minded people and share some interesting conversations along the way. Anyone who loves all things Chester related - local and visitor alike - will hopefully find something of interest along the route. Please come along and join us!
Where’s it happening?
Please meet outside the main entrance of the Storyhouse on Hunter Street, CH1 2AR for a prompt start at 12:10 pm.
The walk will last approximately 50 minutes and will end outside Chester Cathedral, CH1 2DY.
I'll be at the meeting point from just before noon so please come along and introduce yourself.
The practical stuff:
The walk will go ahead whatever the weather so please dress appropriately.
Chester is a historic city, and the route may cover uneven surfaces and include steps so please wear suitable footwear. If you have any mobility issues or other accessibility concerns, please contact the organiser before booking to ensure the route can be adjusted accordingly.
The event does not include lunch but there are many local options for eat-in or take-away food and drink, including at the Storyhouse itself and at the Cathedral too.
If the event has to be cancelled at short notice for any reason, the organisers will make every effort to contact you using details provided at the time of booking.
