Trellis Farming Talk and Tour @ VEGGI Farmers Cooperative

Join us for a hands on farm tour where we discuss trellis farming. The farmers at VEGGI have always used this method of growing certain vining plants due these plants requring a lot of space to spread out. Trellis growing allows you to use vertical space and raise these plants off the ground and allow for as a smart and practical urban farming technique.

-Tour the VEGGI farm and discuss the materials used to build trellis structures.

-Explore different styles of trellis strcutures you can use and how to make them work with your space.

-Discuss the different types of plants you can grow using trellis structures.

This is community workshop in partnership with Recirculationg Farms, SPROUT NOLA and the USDA! This workshop is supported by a grant from the USDA's Beginning Farmer Racher Development Program.
