Be among the first to experience Post Oak Ridge State Park, Texas’ brand-new Centennial State Park! We are putting together a premier day hike group event to cover every single inch of trailblazing mileage currently open to the public.

This rugged, primitive landscape sits right along the Colorado River, offering an escape from urban noise with nothing but panoramic Hill Country views and native wildlife.

The Trail Plan (7.8 Miles Total)

We will be tackling the park's entire trail system across two distinct, scenic out-and-back routes:

- River Overlook Trail (4.4 Miles Round-Trip): A rugged hike with solid elevation changes that leads us directly to sweeping cliffs and dramatic canyon overlooks towering above the Colorado River. From the top, we'll get a spectacular view of an otherworldly rock formation across the water!

- Whispering Oaks Trail (3.4 Miles Round-Trip): This trail weaves through a beautiful, uncommon stand of majestic post oaks and rolling hill woodlands.

The Post-Hike After-Party

- First Stop: Directly following the hike, we'll head back through the historic town of Naruna to check out the local Naruna General Store to grab some cold drinks and see what tasty treats they have available.

- The Main Feast: If we're looking for a full, heavy meal, we’ll cruise just a few minutes further into Lampasas to take over Storm's Drive-In—a legendary local staple perfect for crushing much-deserved, classic drive-in cheeseburgers and shakes!

Critical Park Details:

- Bring TONS of Water: Post Oak Ridge is in its primitive, early opening phase. There is absolutely no drinking water or electricity available on-site. Please pack more water than you think you need.
