Join us for the inaugural Tree Tales, a lunchtime talk featuring Hartford City Forester Sophia Rodbell.This free public event will explore the history and care plan of the Charter Oak scion in Bushnell Park, a living descendant of Connecticut’s legendary tree, planted by the Governor’s Foot Guard to commemorate their centennial. Discover the story behind this iconic tree and learn how it’s being preserved as part of Hartford’s urban forest.
The talk will take place on Wednesday, September 25, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM in Bushnell Park at the Charter Oak Scion near Elm Street. If there is rain, the event will be held in the Carousel Dollard Pavilion room.
