Tree ? planting ceremony at BTCC…. Encourage you all to participate in the event if possible..
Dear Devotees,
We are excited to let you know that as part of Tree Week, Trees Lexington! (https://www.treeslexington.org/), a local non-profit organization is planting several trees on the premises of BTCC.
We would like to introduce to you Tree Week. Tree Week (https://ufi.ca.uky.edu/treeweek) is an annual week-long event hosted by the Urban Forestry Initiative (https://ufi.ca.uky.edu/) and their partners to celebrate and spread awareness about the need for trees and our special connections to trees. The fourth annual Tree Week is being celebrated this year between October 9th and 16th. The poster is attached. This year, Tree Week is being hosted not just in Lexington, but in several other locations in Kentucky as well. Please visit the Tree Week website (linked above) for a comprehensive list of events. There are many family-friendly events and events for people of all ages and walks of life.
The tree planting at BTCC is happening on Sunday, October 10, at 2 pm. This is a community initiative and requires community participation. It would be wonderful to have some friends volunteering to plant trees or simply cheering on those who are planting. Trees Lexington! team members will be there to provide support and education on how to plant a tree and take care of it (we can get some free information from experts too!). Let’s have a fun afternoon while also doing our part for a greener Lexington. We hope to see many of you there in support of this wonderful initiative.
