About this Event
Morgan Duke Conservation Society today announced a Tree planting and community clean up at Hudson River Special Management Area in Lake Luzerne, New York beginning 12:00 PM on May 18, 2024. The community is invited to participate in this event. The community will help pick up garbage and plant trees throughout the Hudson River Special Management Area and Morgan Duke Conservation Society will be providing the supplies including trash bags, trash picker ups, snacks and water. The sign in table will be located at the town line parking lot and visitors can park in the town line parking lot. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will be providing the trees.

Morgan Duke Conservation Society will be planting the trees in memory of the organization late Director of Community Outreach Mary Walker who passed away in September of 2023. Mary Walker was advocate for the Hudson River Special Management Area.
The Community Clean Up Event project was supported with funding from the New York State Park and Trail Partnership Grants and New York’s Environmental Protection Fund. The Park and Trail Partnership Grants are administered by Parks & Trails New York, in partnership with the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.”
