About this Event

Everyone is welcome to join us for Tree Day at EcoPark! There will be tree-mendous activities for all the family from 12.00-15.00pm and everything is free! Here's what you can get involved with on the day:

  • Birmingham poet Lee Mackenzie will be running family friendly poetry workshops at 12.30pm and 1.45pm where families can forage for phrases in amongst the woodland and construct a tree shaped poem. Sign up on the day – first come first served. Children must be accompanied.
  • Have a go at stripping bark from logs to make traditional fence posts in our green woodworking area.
  • Decorate the apple trees with colourful ribbons to say thank you.
  • Write a wish on a Japanese ‘Tanzaku’ card and hang it in a tree for your wish to come true!
  • Take a gentle stroll along our tree trail finding out about our terrific trees and playing Leaf Bingo.
  • Make mini stick shelter habitats in the stone circle.
  • Colour in some bunting for hanging in the orchard, make a bay leaf or pine cone hoop to take home and decorate a jam jar for holding a tealight, ready for a candlelight procession through the woodland to the orchard!

How to get there: Access to EcoPark is through the gates of Eden Girls Leadership Academy on Hob Moor Road. Cars must park in the school car park except for disabled badge holders who can drive through the school car park, down and to the right, and through EcoPark gates to our small car park. Pedestrians should walk through the school car park, down and to the right and through EcoPark gates. Public transport and walking are strongly encouraged.

Please book a ticket which will cover your place for the whole day. A space will need to be booked for each member of your group.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult AT ALL TIMES.
