About this Event

I invite you to join me in the forest for the first Tree Bathing Experience of the season.

Tree bathing is a way to unplug. You can call it walking meditation, walking prayer, mindfulness exercise, quiet contemplation: whatever makes sense for you.

Either way you label it, it's meant to be quiet, slow and intentional.

Boyd Big Tree is known for hosting the biggest trees in PA and this time of year, it's absolutely stunning.

We meet at the covered pavilion and allow for a few minutes in case anyone is running behind.

The walking trail is easy and beginner-level but please let me know if there are any physical limitations.

FAQ:

Is this pet and kid-friendly?

To reduce distractions, it’s recommended to leave small children and pets at home.

Is there a bathroom?

Yes. There are bathrooms at the start of the trail.

What should I bring?

Just yourself and an open mind. This will be an easy stroll through the woods. Water bottles are encouraged. Leaving your phone in the car or silenced is also encouraged.

Is there a cost?

No, there is no fee. I wanted to invite my community alongside to experience the beauty of tree bathing. If you’d like to “Buy me a Coffee” to support my mission, you can do so here: https://linktr.ee/theButterflybeth

What can I expect?

There will be a brief introduction to this practice at the start and then a short walk to a stop point where we will have quiet contemplation time. From there, you are free to roam the trails or walk back as a group to experience the closure of our time together.

What is Tree Bathing or Forest Bathing?

Forest bathing and forest therapy (or shinrin-yoku) broadly means taking in, in all of one's senses, the forest atmosphere. Not simply a walk in the woods, it is the conscious and contemplative practice of being immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of the forest.
