About this Event
Tea Gatherings with Secret Teatime is a series of 60 minute long tea demonstrations in conjunction with the "TREASURES FROM THE KILN" Exhibition and Pop-up Sale at Gallery 1065. The exhibition features work made by a group of local ceramic artists who are passionate about their work in clay. Featuring 12 artists' work in a wide range of styles in their own individual practices.
Helen is a tea practitioner and ceramic artist whose work focuses on crafting tea wares for Chinese and Japanese tea rituals. Her practice is deeply influenced by the philosophies of tea and animism. During the sessions, she will share insights about the tea itself, the vessels used, the ritual process, and the cultural context shaped by her personal experience.
A Q&A session will follow the demonstration. RSVP is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome if space allows.
The event is free of charge—come enjoy tea and support your local ceramic artists.
