What will my child learn at Treasured VBS?
At Treasured Vacation Bible School (VBS), a big idea or "Bible Point" will be introduced each day and is carefully integrated into each station's activities for unforgettable Bible learning.
Bible Point Day 1: God knows you. (Psalm 139:1)
Bible Point Day 2: God hears you. (Psalm 116:1)
Bible Point Day 3: God comforts you. (2 Corinthians 1:4)
Bible Point Day 4: God forgives you. (Nehemiah 9:17)
Bible Point Day 5: God chooses you. (Isaiah 43:1)

What does Treasured VBS look like?
We start each day by gathering all ages together for our opening, Sing & Play Rock. They will learn the Bible Point and Bible verse and worship with upbeat songs.
After our opening activities, crews (a group of children with an adult or high school leader) will split into stations. Stations will include games, crafts, interactive Bible stories, and inspirational videos. Kindergarten-5th grade crews and preschool crews will participate in separate stations that include age appropriate activities.
Everyone will come together again after station time for our Closing Quest.

How old does my child need to be to participate?
Elementary children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade will get to participate in Treasured VBS.
Children ages 3 (potty trained) through 5 (who haven't completed kindergarten) will have a special Treasured program of their own, but will always start the night with the elementary kids.

What is a crew?
Crews are groups of four to five children with an adult or teenage leader. Each crew will have one child from each age level and this will be your child's family during our VBS event. They'll spend the whole week with the same crew, which will form lasting relationships.
Why will we be using mixed-age crews? When kids are grouped in age-grade groups, there's more emphasis on comparison and competition, but by placing children in mixed-age crews, you nearly eliminate the unspoken desire for kids to compare or compete. Instead, older kids help younger ones with challenging tasks and younger kids seek to emulate the older, "cool" kids in their crews. This also encourages new relationships, reduces discipline problems, and helps crew leaders lead effectively.

Does Eden Church's Treasured VBS cost anything?
No! This is a completely FREE event! However, t-shirts are a great way for your child to remember their experience. This year's shirts are a heather mint color with a themed design, are only 50% cotton, and are screen-printed so the design won't peel over time.
