With Nashville’s Russ Mason, Portland’s Paddy Kilrain and VT’s David Karl Roberts
RUSS MASON
Russ is both a songwriter and a song collector who's been performing for over fifty years, first at colleges in Illinois, then on stage at many of Nashville's well known music venues, including The Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner, the Exit/In, and the Idle Hour, and more recently in the Portland area. In addition to performing his own originals, Russ enjoys relating stories about his musical friends, as he shares his own version of some of their songs.
As a part of the Nashville music scene that flourished for several years out at Norm's River Roadhouse, Russ organized and promoted a number of events there in support of the Roadhouse and his own Slow Cooker Music website. Along the way he’s co-written songs with Fred Koller, John Scott Sherrill, Cadillac Bob Holmes, Michael Kelsh, and others, including his son Neil, who's currently out on the road enjoying a grand musical adventure of his own as a member of Big Machine's band The Cadillac Three.
PADDY KILRAIN
Paddy Kilrain has been a performing singer-songwriter for almost thirty years, is from the Schenectady/Albany area and now lives and performs around Portland, Maine She continues to add to her catalog of original songs, which sometimes reward listeners with their depth of emotion, while at other times taking them on an unpredictable and entertaining ride. Her songs illuminate the various layers of her humanity in ways that, time after time, make her performance of them a memorable event for appreciative audiences.
DAVID KARL ROBERTS
Combine an Americana Troubadour with a cocktail of soulful melodies, outlaw folk and swampy lounge blues and you get David Karl Roberts, a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who creates a blend of whiskey soaked, folk, blues and Americana. A familiar face in the Northern New England music scene for several decades, DKR has been an opening act for nationally touring artists such as Dave Bromberg, Hot Tuna, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Fairport Convention, Dave Mason, Rick Danko, Trout Fishing in America, Joe Pug, Chris Pierce, Treat Her Right, Morph*ne and Aquarium Rescue Unit and can be found playing his songs in listening rooms and barrooms throughout New England. http://www.loveshackrecords.com for more info
