About this Event

Welcome to Class 3 (Cohort A) of the Travel Villa Kitchen Workforce Readiness Series at Texas Southern University.

This session equips culinary and hospitality students with the operational pacing, station coordination, and mental focus required during peak service rushes.

SESSION HIGHLIGHTS:

• Time Management in Culinary Service: Prioritizing prep tasks, managing multi-ticket orders, and pacing ticket times.

• Kitchen Brigade Teamwork: Seamless station hand-offs, cross-station support, and back-of-house communication.

• Working Under Pressure: Strategies for emotional resilience, staying organized during dinner rush bottlenecks, and preventing station chaos.

• Brigade Drills: Hands-on timing simulations and service pacing exercises in Kitchen Lab A.

IMPORTANT REGISTRANT NOTES:

• Please arrive 10 minutes early for check-in and station assignments.

• TSU Students: Valid TSU Student ID is required at check-in.

• Community Participants: Admission is $10.
