About this Event

CAPTURE YOUR JOURNEY IN A WAY PHOTOS NEVER CAN!

Imagine sitting in a café during your next trip. Instead of taking another picture, you open your sketchbook. You draw your drink, note down a few thoughts, save a sticker or receipt, and suddenly an ordinary moment becomes a memory you’ll revisit for years.

In this relaxed and creative session, we’ll explore a simple way to capture travel, food, places, and everyday experiences on paper. We’ll combine quick sketches, handwritten notes, collected treasures, and a touch of color to create pages that tell stories.

No drawing experience is needed - this is not about making perfect sketches. It’s about noticing more, slowing down, and collecting memories in a personal and meaningful way.

During this session, we will:

• Draw our drink and warm up our observation skills
• Add words, thoughts, and handwriting to tell the story
• Sketch details from our surroundings
• Collect and attach small memories such as stickers, stamps, receipts, or labels
• Bring everything together with color and personal notes

By the end of the session, you’ll have your very first Summer Notes page and a simple process that you can continue throughout your travels and everyday adventures. (check the QnA for more info about ‘Summer Notes’)

The event is hosted by NOR cafe (Leidingstraat 17b 5617 AJ Eindhoven) - the cafe will be open only for participants: you will be able to buy your coffee or tea to drink :)

Bio of Deniz Oslu (@a.pinch.of.sketches)

Deniz Oslu has been filling sketchbooks with travel and food memories for more than 10 years. He is the founder of Urban Sketchers Ankara and one of the administrators of Urban Sketchers Eindhoven. Through sketching, journaling, and collecting small pieces of everyday life, he has documented journeys, cafés, meals, cities, and countless memorable moments.
