"A unique awarding organisation certified programme for those delivering training that may be emotive and triggering for some learners".
About this Event

On Thursday October 23rd, the TAG Trauma Action Group will be delivering the practical element of its Trauma Informed Training Skills Programme at Warwick University.

Everyone is talking about being 'Trauma informed' across health, social care and education. Trauma informed approaches underpin the NHS England Culture of Care Standards and the Restraint Reduction Network RRN Training and Safer Services Standards. But what does ‘trauma informed’ mean in practice for trainers?

Join us for this practical, virtual and in-person training programme, where you’ll gain skills to embed trauma-informed principles into your training and support for services..

Who is this for?

This Cohort is specifically aimed at those who deliver training and consulting in settings where there is significant trauma, both in the workforce and the populations they serve. This includes delivering training in sensitive topics such as preventing and managing violence and aggression, and in reducing restrictive practice.

  • Independant and in-service trainers
  • Behavioural leads and consultants
  • Trainers in PMVA, de-escalation and reducing restrictive practice

In this event, you’ll learn how to:

✅ Deliver training that reduces the risk of re-traumatisation and prepares you to respond sensitively to learner distress✅ Recognise signs of emotional overload and resistance in learners✅ Facilitate psychologically safe, inclusive group discussions and feedback✅ Maintain trust and empathy in learning environments✅ Build emotional safety without requiring personal disclosure✅ Deliver shame-sensitive learning experiences

Course Structure

This Programme leads to an Endorsed Certificate in Trauma Informed Training Skills from the Awarding Organisation Qualifi. To be certified, learners must complete all three stages:
