About this Event

Feel uncertain about using music in your early learning space? You're not alone. Many educators love the idea of music but feel unsure where to start — or worry they're "not musical enough."

This training changes that.

Based on the innovative CARRM program and developed by Registered Music Therapist and Teacher Sarah Dunston, this full day, hands-on professional learning workshop equips you with a toolbox of practical, evidence-based strategies to support children's social emotional learning that you can use in your teaching practice- right away.

This Training Covers:

· Current research on complex trauma and child brain development

· Simple and practical music and rhtyhm based strategies to support SEL and regulation.

· Activities include: singing, movement, clapstick play, parachute play, body percussion, storytelling and sensory instruments

· Opening and closing Talking Circles for reflection, calibration and connection

Perfect For:

· Early childhood educators seeking practical and creative social-emotional learning strategies

· Services supporting children who have experienced trauma

· Teams wanting to adopt a trauma-informed framework into practice that also aspires to be culturally safe and First Nations focused

· Educators preparing children for school transition
