Welcome to Trauma 101 & 201!
Whether you're just beginning your trauma-informed journey or ready to build on your foundational knowledge, this series provides valuable insight, tools, and strategies to better support individuals and communities impacted by trauma.
Trauma 101 (9:30-12:30) provides a foundational understanding of trauma, its effects on the brain and body, and how to adopt a trauma-informed lens in professional and community settings. This interactive session focuses on increasing awareness and building empathy by exploring the physiological, emotional, and behavioral impacts of trauma.
Topics Include:
- Definitions of trauma, toxic stress, PTSD, and related terms
- The impact of trauma on brain development and body systems
- Coping strategies, self-regulation, and the importance of self-care
- The power of secure attachment and relationships in building resilience
- Understanding trauma responses in children and adults
- Introduction to the Window of Tolerance and how to support regulation
Learning Objectives:
- Define toxic stress and various trauma types (acute, chronic, complex, etc.)
- Identify how trauma affects development and emotional regulation
- Recognize trauma triggers and physiological responses
- Explore the role of healthy attachment and protective factors
- Build awareness of how to support recovery and resilience
LUNCH 12:30-1:30PM
Trauma 201 (1:30-4:30) is designed for participants who have completed Trauma 101 (or a comparable foundational training) and are ready to deepen their trauma-informed practice. This advanced session explores the complexities of healing, post-traumatic growth, and barriers to recovery, with a focus on practical tools and reflection.
Topics Include:
- Review of key trauma definitions and models
- Common challenges in trauma recovery
- Real-world strategies to support individuals with trauma histories
- Introduction to common therapeutic approaches
- Personalizing trauma-informed care and exploring post-traumatic growth
Learning Objectives:
- Revisit the core concepts of trauma and deepen understanding of trauma’s impact
- Identify obstacles to healing and recovery
- Apply practical tools for trauma-informed support
- Explore evidence-informed approaches and emerging research
- Understand the deeply personal nature of post-traumatic growth

Tickets are $30 and include access to either one or both sessions—Trauma 101 and Trauma 201—plus lunch.
We’re offering a 2-for-1 deal, so whether you attend just one session or stay for both, the cost is the same: $30 total. Once you purchase your Trauma 101 ticket, you will receive a promo code in your confirmation email for a free Trauma 201 ticket.
Please note:
- There is no discount for attending only one session.
- Lunch is included with your ticket, whether you attend in the morning, afternoon, or both.
- If you attend Trauma 101, lunch will be served immediately after.
- If you're coming just for Trauma 201, plan to arrive early and enjoy lunch before the session begins.
