Shake the Field is a narrative campaign, interactive website, and digital space curated to educate and inspire Alabamians aged 18-49. This program aims to create an encouraging space for target audience members to cultivate pro-democracy civic identities and relationships while embracing a commitment to long-term investment in Alabama's civic engagement, artistic, and cultural communities
WHAT IS TRAP DEMOCRACY?
Trap Democracy shows are free, all ages events born at the intersection of Shake the Field’s two missions: to create encouraging, exciting spaces to inspire civic engagement and to embrace a commitment to long-term investment in Alabama’s civic engagement, artistic, and cultural communities. Guests have the opportunity to enjoy performances from local hip-hop artists while learning about how they can get involved within their community.
WHY NOW?
Through community events like Trap Democracy, Shake the Field is able to inform the community of opportunities to have their voices heard through civic engagement and provide resources for continued involvement. With Municipal Elections for the City of Huntsville and Scottsboro being held on August 27, 2024, now is as relevant a time as ever to empower communities.
