Celebrate Boston is a free, family-friendly event bringing together the people, groups and projects that make our town special.
Join us at St Botolph’s Church for a day of activities, conversations and inspiration. Alongside games and creative activities for all ages, the event will showcase local community groups, charities and creative projects, and share some of the exciting ideas shaping Boston’s future.
This is also a chance to have your say. Transported want to hear what you would like to see happening in Boston over the coming years, including ideas for cultural events, family-friendly activities and ways to make the most of the town’s spaces and stories ahead of some significant anniversaries of key moments in the place's history. Your thoughts will help inform future plans, including public cultural activity being developed for 2026 and beyond.
What events would you like to see that allow Boston to be proud of itself?
What to expect:
A welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere
Activities and creative experiences for all ages
Stalls and displays from local groups and organisations
A pop-up exhibition of two of Transported's
Opportunities to share your ideas for Boston’s future
Transported will be attending Celebrate Boston alongside StoryTellers Lincs. Visitors can explore displays and leaflets from projects previously delivered in Boston, including work inspired by the town’s heritage and the lived experiences of people who live and work here today. The team will be on hand to chat, answer questions and listen to your ideas.
We will also have a selection of photographs on display from two portrait photography projects.
1000 Faces celebrates the people of Boston, those who live, work and shape the town every day. Alongside sculpture, drawing and other art forms, portrait photography adds another layer to this community-led portrait of Boston. In late autumn 2025, photographer Steven Hatton of Electric Egg captured shoppers and traders in Boston’s market place, inviting participants to help shape how they were portrayed. These images continue a long tradition of documenting local life, echoing the historic carved faces hidden within St Botolph’s Church.
In a separate project, Boston-based photographer Bartosz Fedkowicz explores the town’s rich cultural diversity through portrait photography. His work offers a snapshot of everyday life in Boston, capturing the people who live here and a moment in their stories.
Like the historic carvings in the Stump, these photographs provide a visual record of the town at a particular time, offering future generations a glimpse of Boston’s communities today.
The full collections from both projects will be shared in 2026 as part of Transported events, including the new plaza celebrations, and will also be available to view online:
