Trans*Performativity by AURA | Collective Encounters Festival

Trans*Performativity explores the idea of transformation and metamorphosis. Through this ongoing project AURA worked with four UK based performers to gather and transpose trans* experiences into a contemporary work which fuses audiovisuals and collective performances. 

The scenography creates an innovative and safe space the costumes weave together individual and collective identity and the lighting design gives visibility to underrepresented bodies inviting each audience member to come to their own perception understanding and experience of the work freely. 

The performance will be followed by a Q&A with AURA and the performers.

This is a Pay What You Can event as part of Collective Encounters a two-day festival of dance for LGBTQ+ folx and their allies.

Yorkshire Dance is opposite BBC Yorkshire and Leeds Conservatoire. There is step free access throughout the building and wheelchair spaces are available. Full access information for Yorkshire Dance is available on our website.
